Ash adhesion to the steel surface of a heat exchanger, causing loss of efficiency.

Objective

Laser texturing of a stainless steel surface for self-cleaning functional properties.

ATRIA solution

Through the laser texturing it was possible to modify the turbulence of the flow and adhesion of the ash to the surface. Our work focused on:
– Selection and design of the microstructure.
– Optimization of the laser parameters.
– Client quality tests (abrasion, fouling, …).
