Irreversible stains study on synthetic fabrics

Irreversible stains appearance on textile products.

Objective

Develop a test capable of simulating the stains in the laboratory and characterize these stains to determine their origin.

ATRIA solution

Several simulation tests were carried out to determine that the stain was produced by the joint action of water and temperature during a certain time.

After this, real stains and simulated stains were characterized by different techniques (FTIR, SEM-EDX and XPS).

The characterization results allowed us to identify the differences between stained textiles and stainless textiles.
This difference was key in determining a solution to the problem.
