Anti-corrosion laser texturing

Problem

Stainless steel tubes manufactured by the customer fail during their useful life due to corrosion.

Objective

Increase the useful life of the tubes and ensure that failure due to corrosion takes longer to appear.

ATRIA Solution

We worked with different equipment and laser parameters to obtain a valid texturing. In potentiostatic tests, it was able to withstand 10 times more current before starting corrosion than non-microstructured steel.
