It was wanted to replace acetone with another product that is less toxic and that entails fewer health risks.
Objective
Search for a “green” product that performs the same function as acetone but with less or no health risk.
ATRIA solution
First, the compounds that negatively affected the plastic selected for the project were studied. Several chemical products were tested as acids, bases, alkalis, commercial products … and several physical methods were tested such as heat, UV, O3, flame …
The client selected a product that worked best and final tests were performed.
